'Hum hai raahi pyar ke'- Philosophical song from the Hindi Movie 'Nau Do Gyarah' (1957)

Dear Friends,

Now I am starting a series on some wonderful Philosophical songs, in Hindi/ Bengali/ English.

Today, I am posting a very famous song, which tells us about life. It is 'Hum hai raahi pyar ke' from the film- 'Nau Do Gyarah' (1957).

Most of you already know the song, the lyrics, by heart :). I really like the way it tells us to remain steady while facing the pair of opposites (like sunshine/ moonlight,  happiness/ sadness, peace- pain), in life.

Wonderful music, lyrics and effortlessly sung by the great Kishore Kumar! Music is very easy, free flowing, as light as the person adhering to the philosophy would feel himself! Because of the 'let go' or 'accept' approach, he will be able to enjoy life to the fullest, in each moment.

'Humne har tarah ke phool, haar me piroh liye'- such a wnderful expression!!! Experiencing the Bliss of Being Alive!!

'Raah me pade hain hum, kabse aap ki qasam/ Dekhiye to kam se kam, boliye na boliye'-  And this stanza is so Simple!!! We just get amazed by the ease of expression here!!

Here are the lyrics:-

Hum hain raahi pyar ke, humse kuchh na boliye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye
Hum usi ke ho liye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

Dard bhi hume qabul, chain bhi hume qabul
Humne har tarah ke phool, haar me piroh liye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

Dhup thi nasib me, to dhup men liya hai dum
Chandni mili to hum, chandni me so liye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

Dil pe aasra kiye, hum to bus yun hi jiye
Ek kadam pe hans liye, ek kadam pe ro liye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

Raah me pade hain hum, kabse aap ki qasam
Dekhiye to kam se kam, boliye na boliye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

Hum hain raahi pyar ke, humse kuchh na boliye
Jo bhi pyar se mila, hum usi ke ho liye

(Lyrics available in the internet).

Enjoy :)

'Allah Tero Naam'- Devotional Song from the Hindi movie- 'Hum Dono'

Today I am sharing a song which is such a great favourite of mine since I listened to it for the first time, while watching the movie- 'Hum Dono'. An excellent movie, having great message, story, acting- everything about the movie is of a  high level!!

This song - 'Allah tero naam' is a devotional songs which makes you emotional with its music, lyrics and yes, Lataji's wonderful singing style!!! She just added the meaning to all the lines. When you listen to the song you actually FEEL all those words... It has a chanting like effect which touches the chord of devotion in your heart very easily. Such an amazing song!!!

Specially when the words- 'Nirbal KO bal' comes in the second stanza, the way Lataji has sung those words, is Truly Marvellous!!!

In the film also, the song comes in a sequence when we have nothing more to do, just pray to the Lord, for the Welfare of All... The way Nanda has delivered the song, (on screen), is so similar to the way Lataji has sung the song!!!  We all FEEL the situation in our heart!

Here is the lyrics:-

Allah tero naam Ishwar tero naam
Sabko sanmati de Bhagwaan
Allah tero naam

Maangon ka sindoor na chhoote
Ma behenon ki aas na toote
Deh bina Daata
Deh bina bhatake na pran

Sabko sanmati de Bhagwaan
Allah tero naam

O saare jag ke rakhwaale
Nirbal ko bal denewaale
Balawaanon ko
Balawaanon ko de de gyan

Sabko sanmati de Bhagwaan

Allah tero naam Ishwar tero naam
Allah tero naam...

(I got the lyrics from searching the internet.)

Enjoy this beautiful song :)
